The Making of a Japanese documentary will be previewed in Tokyo on 1 December 2024 at the Eurospace Cinema in Shibuya. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on education, where teacher Seita Enomoto (Tsukado Elementary School), Associate Professor Erkki T. Lassila (Kobe University), Professor Hiroshi Sugita (Kokugaku University), and CEO Kumiko Hiltunen will discuss the similarities and differences between Finnish and Japanese elementary schools.
Film professionals will be invited to a special discussion with film producers Outi Rousu (Pystymetsä Oy), Eric Nyari (Cineric Creative) and Shin Yasuda (NHK), director Ema Ryan Yamasaki (Cineric Creative), and composer Päivi Takala, who will talk about the production process of a Finnish-Japanese collaboration film. The event will also feature contributions from Yle and AVEK.
Both events are part of the project pARTir – Creating a Cultural Roadmap Towards Responsible International Mobility, a collaboration between the Finnish Institute in Japan and ten Finnish cultural institutes. pARTir is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
