The Shigaraki Artist Residency is offered for one Finnish or Finland-based ceramist or visual artist at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. The purpose of the residency is to offer one artist an opportunity to work in an innovative and professional artist community working with ceramic art.
The Institute covers the artist’s travel and accommodation costs, agreed-upon materials and shipping expenses, and provides a workspace at the SCCP.
From potential visual artists we require interest towards ceramics or Shigaraki culture.
The artist commits to offer a report of the residency results. In addition, a small exhibition can be organized based on the artist’s work in Shigaraki.
