Ureshino Ceramics Residency

The Ureshino Ceramics Residency is open to one Finnish or Finland-based artist working with ceramics. The residency offers an opportunity to work within an innovative and professional ceramic arts community.

Covered Expensens

The Finnish Institute in Japan covers the artist’s travel, accommodation and workspace costs, as well as material costs according to a separate agreement.

Additional Information

An artist talk and a small exhibition will be organised based on the work produced during the residency.

Please note that the residency takes place during one of the hottest periods in Japan. Temperatures can reach close to 40°C with high humidity. The residency therefore requires a good ability to manage one’s own health and wellbeing in such conditions. The selected participant is recommended to arrange appropriate health and travel insurance for the duration of their stay.
