Sami Rinne: Ureshino Artist Residency Interview 2025 – YouTube
A video interview about the experiences of Sami Rinne, the 2025 Ureshino Ceramics Residency artist, is now available on the Institute’s YouTube channel.
The purpose of the Ureshino Ceramics Residency is to offer one Finnish or Finland-based artist an opportunity to work in an innovative and professional artist community working with ceramic art.
The Institute covers the artist’s travel, accommodation and workspace costs, as well as material costs according to a separate agreement.
An artist talk and a small exhibition will be organized based on the work during the residency.
Please note that the residency takes place during one of the hottest periods in Japan. Temperatures can rise close to 40°C with high humidity. The residency therefore requires a good ability to manage one’s own health and well-being in such conditions. The selected participant is recommended to arrange appropriate health and travel insurance for the duration of the stay.
