The Finnish Institute in Japan has currently two ongoing research projects about

  1. Gustaf John Ramstedt (1873-1950), the Finland’s first envoy to Japan, and the impact of his Japanese networks
  2. The Finnish Artists’ villas and the Japanese Sansou – comparison of their architecture and closeness with nature
